La Boca is one of B.A's most colorful neighborhoods. it was settled and built by italian immigrants that worked in the warehouses and meatpacking plants in the area. la boca is partly an artist colony... the houses were built and painted by the resident dock-workers, who used leftover materials and paint from the ships.
the buildings and the area are amazing- i just walked around- but el caminito is a HUGE tourist trap! kind of disappointing.
